~ Precariously Placed Pearls ~

Today ~
I gathered a few goodies from my
trove of treasures,
along with my lil bisque model
and had a little photo shoot for Etsy.
Starring ~
beautiful silk satin flapper era garters.
Stunning, gigantic
vintage carved shell buttons.
Pretty blue-green, gilt Spode transferware,
in miniature ~ the cup is just over 2"...
...a few of my own creations...
earrings of pearlescent purple freshwater pearls,
Czech glass leaves in
cranberry glass with white core,
and wee Czech plum crystals,
harlequin-shaped freshwater pearls,
awash in purple, gold, and copper.
And co-starring...
Victorian quadruple silverplate
 sugar and creamer,
with gorgeous etching and raised details,
And brought to you by...
brightly hued pottery?
Ummmm...I think the
116 degree heat index is getting to me.

Gotta go.
Bye!

Oh, do go visit Fabulous Fifi's blog for
refreshing photos and a chance to win
her uber "cool" giveaway!
'kay?

~ Refresh ~

Summer.  Pause.  Refresh.
Thankfully, create a respite...
from the wrath of Summer.

Dappled light and shade,
a breeze of billowing lace.
Fluffy, cotton clouds.
Diversions to invigorate our creative muse.
A little "Parisian" levity.
Perhaps dreams of beach waves.
Or lakeside splendor.
Channeling gardens adrift in a sea of color.
Summoning the cool,
crisp breezes of Autumn.
A dash of Fall color and festivity.
Soon, Summer will give way to Fall.

New listings added to Etsy today.
More additions to follow.

Have a splendid week!

~ Oh, You Beautiful Dolls! ~

It's Friday!

I have been loading some
new treasures into my
I have quite a
collection of doll elements to sell,
as my
creative muse has
been on haitus lately.
Perhaps an amazing artist can
make use of these beauties.
These are just a few that
have been listed.
Sweet Bye Lo babies!
Just waiting for that magic touch!
And a few
Victorian treasures
are being added as well.
This Victorian pin dish is amazing!
I adore the hand painted dark pink florals
and gilded festoons and trim!
As well as its beautiful shape.

Perhaps you have a
place for these beauties?

Pretties from the past,
sure to please
the artist or collector.

Thanks for looking!
Have a great weekend!

~ Flit, Fairy, Fly ~

If only we could don fairy wings and
 flit to dreamy destinations.
This past week I was able to fly away
 just for a bit with
Cindy and Lisa and my youngest
for a break from the dailies.
No fairy wings needed for this adventure.
Just good, old fashioned fun.
Shopping and dining at
The Antique Company mall,
Smitten, and Patina Green,
 in McKinney, Texas.
With artsy friends.
This book was Lisa's discovery,
though she relinquished it to me
to become its proud new owner!
In between the pages
were a couple of
four leaf clovers,
pressed to posterity by Miss Flora.
And this sweet message
from the original gift giver ~
"Presented to Miss Flora Garrison
by her mother
on Christmas 1894".

One of my finds ~ this Art Nouveau jewel box.
It is tiny.  Just about ring-sized.
Perfect for fairy treasures.
This plate, or trivet, is
hand painted in the most
beautiful colors, as are the
gilt topped shakers below.
A silvertone cherub
hovers above a cloud of lace.
And a most unusual, foofy, off-white hat,
with plumes of layered velvet "leaves",
is most enchanting.
A vintage hanger from
Disneyland Hotel hints of
joys to be found in a
land of enchantment.
An opalescent, semi-translucent, milky glass shoe.
And more magical images from the
"Mammoth Storybook Full of Pictures".
A top hatted gentleman.
A fish wishin' pup.

'Tis splendid to have a
little respite from the dailies.
Made even better with
friendship and a dab of fantasy!

And to you, sweet readers,
feel free to grab the book images I have
posted here, and use them in your art.

Thank you, friends!
